Sihle Qwabe holds the role ofManaging Director for THATHA Project Resources. He has worked in the field of engineering for just over 13 years, having worked for organizations such as; Trans-Africa projects (Project Design Engineer), SAVCIO holdings (Manager: Engineering Projects), stationed at L.H. Marthinusen Denver BU, Richards Bay Minerals (High Voltage Specialist), Eskom(Senior Quality Engineer) and E Exxaro Resources (Regional Senior Electrical Engineer).
In his career Sihle has gained extensive experience in various fields of engineering which include but not limited to; strategy development and implementation, change management, business management, people management, Capital and OPEX budgeting, engineering designing and specification, root cause failure analysis (RCFA), engineering commissioning, risk asset management, project management, project quality engineering, plant maintenance and research.
Academically Mr Qwabe’s highest qualifications include an M.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (University of KwaZulu-Natal), as well as an MBA Degree (University of Stellenbosch Business School) where he majored in “Business Project Management” and “Business Strategy Management”. Sihle also holds a B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Management of Technology, a Certificate in Project Programme Management and a Certificate in Global Minerals Industry Risk Management (all studies from the University of Pretoria). Furthermore, Mr. Qwabe has 6-Sigma green belt training and is registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
